What makes a useful golf partnership pilot?

The Fairway Team · September 14, 2026

Start with the reason for the partnership

A shared interest in golf is a good introduction. A useful pilot needs a more specific goal: bring a group together, introduce people to a product or explore a better way for a club to communicate with golfers.

Choose one audience and one outcome. It is easier to learn from a small, well-defined activity than a programme trying to achieve everything at once.

Agree what each party brings

Before publishing an announcement, confirm the activity, date, venue, staff responsibilities and costs. If equipment, prizes or content production are involved, make those contributions explicit.

Agree who can use photos, names and logos, and where any joint content will appear. Participants should understand what information they are providing and how it will be used.

Separate participation from commercial return

Attendance and positive feedback can show that people found an activity useful. They do not automatically prove incremental sales or a return on sponsorship.

If commercial evidence matters, agree a practical method beforehand. That might be an offer code or a dealer's report, provided the relevant parties agree how it works. Do not claim a sale was caused by the pilot simply because it happened during the same period.

Leave room for an honest review

Set a review date when the pilot begins. Ask what worked, what took more effort than expected and whether the audience wants another activity. Continue, change or stop the arrangement based on that evidence.

Explore a focused collaboration

Fairway Footprint welcomes conversations about golf communities, corporate experiences and brand education or demonstrations. Each proposed activity needs its own scope and agreement; a possible format is not an announcement of an existing sponsor.

Explore FF partnerships or talk about your club. Bring a short description of your audience, goal and timeframe, and we can use it to shape the next conversation.
